Nigeria has recorded its first death of Covid-19, totally the country has 36 confirmed cases of the infection as at this report was filed, while two have been successfully treated and already discharged.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the death on its official social platform on Monday, as a 67 year old male who returned home following medical treatment in United Kingdom, he had underlying medical conditions, multiple myeloma, diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy.
Meanwhile, NCDC revealed a breakdown of the virus spread in the country while Lagos State leads the pack, with 25 cases of infections, followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with six cases.
Ogun State is next with two cases, while Ekiti, Oyo and Edo State, have one case each. The NCDC had announced Edo State index case on Monday (today). Lagos State – 25 FCT (Abuja) – 6 Ogun State – 2 Oyo State – 1 Ekiti State – 1 Edo State – 1 Total : 36 confirmed cases.
