The United States President-elect, Joe Biden has backed the impechment of President, Donald Trump by the House of Representatives over the invasion of rioters at US Capitol on the 6th of January, 2020.

The President-elect disclosed this on his official social platform on Thursday, while called on the Senate to perform their constitutional responsibility on the impechment.

According to him, “Today, in a bipartisan vote, the House voted to impeach and hold President Trump accountable.

“Now, the process continues to the Senate and I hope they’ll deal with their Constitutional responsibilities on impeachment while also working on the other urgent business of this nation”, he said.

Meanwhile, the vote to impeach President Trump passed the Democratic-controlled House 232 to 197, with 10 Republicans voting against the president, over the violent riot of the U.S. Capitol that left five people dead and terrorized lawmakers.

The House have sent the article of impeachment to the Senate for them to begin the process of holding a trial to determine whether to convict Trump and potentially bar him from ever running for any office again.
