The United States Senator, Bernie Sanders has said that with Democratic control of the White House, the Senate and the House must raise the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour.

The Senator for Vermont disclosed this on his official social platform on Thursday, Sanders said half of American workers are living paycheck to paycheck, and millions earn starvation wages.

According to him, “Half of American workers are living paycheck to paycheck, and millions earn starvation wages.

“With Democratic control of the White House, the Senate and the House, we must raise the minimum wage to a living wage  of $15 an hour. No excuses”, he said.

Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employees in America is $7.25 per hour. Many states also have minimum wage laws.

In cases where an employee is subject to both the state and federal minimum wage laws, the employee is entitled to the higher of the two minimum wages.
