By Susan Njire

The Ethnics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) on the morning of Thursday August 20, raided Kirinyaga Gorvernor, Anne Waiguru’s homes and offices. The raid was aimed at collecting evidence to support investigations into her alleged abuse of office. The sleuths who claimed to have search warrants raided her homes and offices in Nairobi and Kirinyaga simultaneously.

The raid which did not last for long as detectives carried away documents and transaction receipts. The governor who has been facing corruption allegations since the NYS major corruption case to the recent illegal tenders in the county will now await her fate. The raid has been contributed by the recent impeachment motion by the Kirinyaga County Assembly after the governor was accused of misusing public funds and awarding tenders illegally to her friends and relatives.

The government was also accused of using her office to improperly confer a benefit to herself when she was irregularly paid for travel allowances by way to imprests amounting to Ksh 10.6 million yet she did not travel. All eyes are on the EACC as we wait what will come up once the investigations are done as we hope and pray for justice.
