Youths in Rivers State stage protest against governor Wike’s directive

Youths in Rivers State have staged protest in Port Harcourt city against police brutality as against the directive of Governor Nyesom Wike. The protesters are calling for justice for victims who have died from extra judicial killings from police brutality.

They complained of incessant harassment by men of the police for using flashy cars, using of Iphones, and several other reasons. The protesters also condemned the the directive of Governor Wike, banning all protest activities in the state, as they say it is their fundamental human right.

Security agencies however deployed to dispatch the protesters are now guiding the protesters instead. The protest which began in Pleasure park Rumuola in Port Harcourt has ended at the entrance of the Rivers State government house, as the youths await Governor Wike to address them.
