
Zimbabwe’s Covid-19 death toll increased to 150 after the country recorded nine new fatalities on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said. The fatalities, six of which were in the capital Harare, came on the back of 265 new confirmed cases, taking the tally of infections to 5 643.
The other three deaths were recorded in Mashonaland Central, Masvingo and Mashonaland West. “Masvingo reports first Covid-19 death as deaths reach 150,” the Health Ministry said. The country also registered 337 new recoveries, taking the total of those who have healed to 4 442.
Active cases further decline to 1 051. The disease has invaded all aspects of the Zimbabwean life from communities to companies, which have been forced to scale down operations.
