Zimbabwe records one new case of coronavirus in the last 24 hours

Zimbabwe on Wednesday recorded one new coronavirus case, health ministry said, as the number of people healed from the deadly virus continues to increase. The case was due to local transmission and reported in Mat North Province. The number of active cases, however, is just 1,307 as 6,303 people in the southern African country have recovered, according to the Ministry of Health.

As of today, the country recorded 181 total new recoveries with 467 PCR tests done. “Seven day rolling average for new cases goes down to 16 from 18 yesterday,” the health ministry said. There was no death reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 228 people have succumbed to the virus so far. Cumulatively, the nation has recorded 7838 cases. Positive cases reported in Zimbabwe have been mild and as such have not required hospitalization.
